subway or metro, a classic pattern we have loved.
We have seen the subway tile trend being used in the kitchen or bathroom, in industrial lofts, or as a bar front for years now. Inspired by the wall pattern found in metro and subway stations this “halbverband” (how we called it in German), was/ia the “cool” way of laying tiles. We ourselves have enjoyed and used this pattern for some time now. However, we are ready for a change.
A new vertical perspective
a new way of looking at subway tiles that’s what was needed to completely re-invent the 10 by 30 or 15 by 25 sized tile. Stepping away from industrial into a more clean and minimal look. Vertical subway tiles get us excited.
No matter where we have spotted this trend, if in a bathroom or as a backsplash in a restaurant or kitchen. We can’t help ourselves, but fall over and over in love.
When using beautiful manufactured tiles, that are textured and rich in color this very straightforward way of laying tiles becomes special every time. We love that with this trend, tiles can have color again. One of our favorite tile collection is the stunning Artisan collection by Equipe ceramicas.
And by the way, if the longe and rectangular tiles are not for you, the same stunning and effortless look can be achieved with square tiles.
