Christmas with the Eames Elephant

The Eames Elephant as christmas decoration

What is not to love about the eames elephant! Designed by Charles and Ray Eames as a toy elephant made of plywood in 1945. Now manufactured by vitra in plastic, the Eames Elephant is a design gem and a highlight not just for the attended target group, children.

Last Christmas we surprisingly found the Eames Elephant in a way it could not be more unexpected, as an christmas tree at the VitraHaus.

My Eames inspired chritmas tree

This sculptural and fun way to use this design classic inspired me this year to find a way to incorporate these little guys into my christmas decor.

I found a cutout of the Eames Elephant at the vitrashop and made my own stencil out of it.

I used black craft paper as well as black and grey leather to create my little Eames Elephant ornament.

I wish you all a wonderful christmas time.
