Pantone color of the Year: Ultra Violet
I was quite surprised to see Ultra Violet being the color of the year. I guess I didn’t see this trend coming.
To be honest, I do like what the color stands for more than the color itself. I think Pantone has chosen this color well, communicating:
“Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own.
Why we like what this color stands for
In some way, this choice raises the hope that this color can stand for the wish and desire to work towards a better more tolerant, loving and open world. A World where there is not only white and black but color. A color that maybe not is to everyone’s taste but a color that will be excepted and appreciated. A color that can reflect that it is not about individual taste or opinion but about community, differences in opinion and acceptance of each others opinion and way of living! A color that talks about white open space, the future and trough that the opportunity that we have to power to shape and colorize our future.
In this regard, I love Ultra Violet.
Hello 2018 Bye Bye Ultra Violet
The funny thing is that we used to have a kind of Ultra Violet as part of our interior until last December.
That is when I grew tired of that color and painted it a warm grey. I guess Michael and I started the year of Ultra Violet with getting rid of it 🙂
Anyway… I’m looking forward seeing how this color will find its way into design, interior, architecture, and fashion this year!
