Munich weekend city trip
City trips are always a favorite of ours especially when staying at a nice Airbnb or hotel. We spontaneously went to Munich to meet up with Michaels brother this weekend.
We stayed at Ruby Lilly, a hotel I only can recommend to stay at. Ruby Lilly is located quite central and within walking distance to the city center and some very nice museums like the Pinakothek, which I definitely recommend to visit if you like art and design!
The Ruby Lilly Hotel
At Ruby Lilly, Michael and I, of course, stayed at the ZWEIte Stock (second level)
The Hotel is super beautiful and has a very dark industrial but cozy feel. The rooms are bright, clean and smell amazing:) They have their own brand of soaps and cremes which smell so good! You can buy their soaps at the hotel as a nice little vacation reminder! I loved that about this Hotel, they understand that atmosphere of a space is created by addressing the scenes. Everywhere the light was slightly dimmed always the right amount so you could see and interact but never too bright. All public spaces hat carpet or textiles so they would swallow sound creating a very calm sound throughout. And the smell, it smelled nicely everywhere. I did like the design style they chosen for there Hotel. All the public spaces had a very dark, industrial but chic style mixed with some midcentury modern and 80s details.
The Hotel room
The rooms, in contrast to the public spaces, were clean, light, minimal and comfortable. It felt like this hotel was made for me. Every room has a window seat, wood floors, beautiful dark wood paneling and super comfortable beds. But the best part was the tea lounge on each floor! As much tea as you like…that’s my kind place to be!
Its all about Atmosphere.
This hotel really creates a beautiful atmosphere to stay in. I appreciated that everything about this stay was easy. The check-in, the parking, the breakfast, and work. Ruby Lilly really does a good job keeping modern work and travel in mind. Personally, I can’t separate the two anymore, running a small business your always at work. Being in a space that creates zones for you to check in and out of work and travel is awesome. No matter which zone I was in, the created environment allowed me to be fully immersed in my action of working or simply travel and enjoy.
My recommendation for your next trip to Munich: if you are looking for a place where you can easily experience the city from, but also wouldn’t mind a few hours of simply hanging out at an inspiring and inviting space, consider staying at Ruby Lilly.
If you have stayed there already let me know what you thought about your stay in the comment section.
